لماwhen اِرتَقىrose in rank داودُDawud أَوحدthe peerless one of عَصرِهِhis age
لما اِرتَقى داودُ أَوحد عَصرِهِ
فيin دَولةthe reign of المَولىthe lord خديويthe Khedive of مَصرهِhis Egypt
في دَولة المَولى خديوي مَصرهِ
When Dawud, peerless in his age, rose in rank
When David ascended alone in his time
In the reign of the lord, the Khedive of his Egypt,
In the state of the Master, Khedive of Egypt
وَاِزدادand increased فيin شَعبانSha‘ban تَشريفاًhonor كَماas
وَاِزداد في شَعبان تَشريفاً كَما
نَرجوwe hope وَأَيدهand supported him العَزيزthe Mighty One بِنَصرهwith His aid
نَرجو وَأَيده العَزيز بِنَصره
And gained further honor in Sha‘ban, as
And increased in Sha'ban more glory, as
We hope, and the Mighty One supported him with His aid,
We hope, and God the Almighty support him
هنّاهcongratulated him مجديMajdi عِندَat ذاكَthat time مؤرخاًcomposing a chronogram
هنّاه مجدي عِندَ ذاكَ مؤرخاً
داودDawud قَدindeed نُشرwas unfurled اللواءthe banner لشكرهto thank him
داود قَد نُشر اللواء لشكره
Majdi congratulated him then, composing a chronogram:
Majdi congratulated him at that time chronicling
“Dawud—the banner has been unfurled in gratitude to him.”
