يا لَيلة الأَفراح بَدرُكِ زاهي

يا لَيلة الأَفراح بَدرُكِ زاهي

وَالأُنس فيكِ منادمٌ لِلجاهِ

وَالأُنس فيكِ منادمٌ لِلجاهِ

O night of joys, your full moon is radiant.

O night of joys, your full moon is radiant

And merriment within you is high rank’s boon companion.

And the companionship in you is a gathering for the eminent

حَيث الأَمير أَبو السَعادة زَيوَرٌ

حَيث الأَمير أَبو السَعادة زَيوَرٌ

أَضحى بِهِ فيكِ الوِصال يُباهي

أَضحى بِهِ فيكِ الوِصال يُباهي

Where Prince Abu al-Sa‘ada, Zaywar,

Where Amir Abu Al-Sa'ada Zaywar

Has become the pride of union within you.

Has become with you boasting of the union

وَلَهُ أَضاءَت في السُرور كَواكب

وَلَهُ أَضاءَت في السُرور كَواكب

بِصَفائِها أَربَت عَلى الأَشباه

بِصَفائِها أَربَت عَلى الأَشباه

And for him, stars shone amid rejoicing;

And for him the stars in happiness shone

In their clarity, they surpassed their peers.

With their purity they excelled over the peers

وَصفا الزَمان لَهُ فَها هُو آمر

وَصفا الزَمان لَهُ فَها هُو آمر

بِالعُرف فيهِ كَما يَشاء وَناهي

بِالعُرف فيهِ كَما يَشاء وَناهي

And time grew fair for him; behold, he enjoins

The time has described him as a commander

What is right therein, as he wishes, and forbids.

With etiquette in it as he wills and prohibits

وَالسَعد أَنشَد في الزَفاف مؤرِّخاً

وَالسَعد أَنشَد في الزَفاف مؤرِّخاً

زفت لِزيورَ شَمسُ حسن باهي

زفت لِزيورَ شَمسُ حسن باهي

And good fortune sang at the wedding, marking its date:

And Sa'd recited at the wedding dating

A sun of splendid beauty was led in bridal procession to Zaywar.

The sun of beautiful splendor was brought to Zaywar
