قدوم سَعيد الملك بِاليُمنِ وَالسَنا

قدوم سَعيد الملك بِاليُمنِ وَالسَنا

حَبا مصر بالإقبال وَالأَمن وَالسَنى

حَبا مصر بالإقبال وَالأَمن وَالسَنى

The coming of Sa'id the king, with good fortune and radiance,

The auspicious arrival of the king with good fortune and brilliance

Endowed Egypt with prosperity, security, and glory.

Egypt loved his coming with prosperity, safety and bliss

وَنُور رَسول اللَه أَضحى أَمامَه

وَنُور رَسول اللَه أَضحى أَمامَه

مَع الفَوز يَسعى مِن هُناك إلى هُنا

مَع الفَوز يَسعى مِن هُناك إلى هُنا

And the light of God's Messenger was now before him,

And the light of Allah’s Messenger shone before him

Hastening with triumph from there to here.

As he strives for success going from here to there

وَبَينَ يَدي عَلياه سارَت مَواكبٌ

وَبَينَ يَدي عَلياه سارَت مَواكبٌ

لِهَيبتها أَمسى أُسامةُ مذعنا

لِهَيبتها أَمسى أُسامةُ مذعنا

And before His Highness, processions marched;

And before the most High processions marched

Awed by them, Usama the lion became submissive.

For their awe Uthman yielded

وَلا غرو حَيث الشبل فيها وَإِنَّهُ

وَلا غرو حَيث الشبل فيها وَإِنَّهُ

لبدرٌ مُنيرٌ بِالوَقار تحصَّنا

لبدرٌ مُنيرٌ بِالوَقار تحصَّنا

No wonder, for the lion cub was among them, and he

It’s no wonder where the cub is, and he

Was surely a radiant full moon, fortified by dignity.

Is a shining full moon fortified with dignity

وَفاخَرت الأَرض السَماء بِزينة

وَفاخَرت الأَرض السَماء بِزينة

مَصابيحها مدّت لَها الزُهر أَعيُنا

مَصابيحها مدّت لَها الزُهر أَعيُنا

And earth vied with heaven in adornment;

And the land vied with the sky in decoration

The bright stars cast their eyes toward her lamps.

Its lanterns extended eyes of flowers to it

فَهَيا بِنا نَحظى بِلَثم مَواطئٍ

فَهَيا بِنا نَحظى بِلَثم مَواطئٍ

لَها السَعي مَشكور إِلى طيبة الهَنا

لَها السَعي مَشكور إِلى طيبة الهَنا

So come, let us delight in kissing the footprints

So come let us gain the favor of treading

Of a praiseworthy journey to blissful Tayba.

Whose efforts to the bliss of Tayba are appreciated

وَهَنّوا بِهَذا العَود أَوطانَه الَّتي

وَهَنّوا بِهَذا العَود أَوطانَه الَّتي

قَد اِكتَسَبت عزّاً به وَتَمدّنا

قَد اِكتَسَبت عزّاً به وَتَمدّنا

And congratulate, on this return, his native lands, which

And congratulate him on this return to his countries

Have gained honor and civilization through him.

That gained might through him and civilization

وَبِالرُوح جودوا لِلبَشير لِتظفروا

وَبِالرُوح جودوا لِلبَشير لِتظفروا

بِما فيهِ لِلأَشباح عَنها مِن الغِنى

بِما فيهِ لِلأَشباح عَنها مِن الغِنى

And give your souls generously to the bearer of good news, that you may gain

And generously greet the herald that you may gain

What lets bodies dispense with the soul.

What it contains for souls of richness

فَقَد جاءَكُم هَذا العَزيز مُتوّجاً

فَقَد جاءَكُم هَذا العَزيز مُتوّجاً

بِتاج المَعالي مِن إِلَه نَبيِّنا

بِتاج المَعالي مِن إِلَه نَبيِّنا

For this honored one has come to you crowned

For this dear one has come to you crowned

With the crown of lofty honors from the God of our Prophet.

With the crown of the most high from our Lord Prophet

وَأَهدى لَكُم ما يَشرَح الصَدرَ فَاِهتَدوا

وَأَهدى لَكُم ما يَشرَح الصَدرَ فَاِهتَدوا

إِلى نَظم مَنثور مِن الشُكر وَالثَنا

إِلى نَظم مَنثور مِن الشُكر وَالثَنا

And he bestowed on you what gladdens the heart; so find your way

And he gifted you what gladdens the chest so be guided

To setting scattered words of gratitude and praise in verse.

To composed and prose poetry of thanks and praise

وَفي رحلة زادَ اِبتِهاجاً بِها اِسمَعوا

وَفي رحلة زادَ اِبتِهاجاً بِها اِسمَعوا

حَديثاً عَن المَجد الأَثيل مُعَنعنا

حَديثاً عَن المَجد الأَثيل مُعَنعنا

And of a journey that heightened his joy, hear

And of his trip he brought more joy, so listen

A tale of deep-rooted glory, transmitted through a chain of narrators.

To talk of the everlasting glory softly spoken

لَقَد زارَ خَير الأَنبياء فَنالَ ما

لَقَد زارَ خَير الأَنبياء فَنالَ ما

تَمَناه فيما قَد أَسرّ وَأَعلَنا

تَمَناه فيما قَد أَسرّ وَأَعلَنا

He indeed visited the best of prophets, and so attained what

He visited the best of Prophets and gained what

He had wished for, both secretly and openly.

He wished for in what was secret and open

وَفازَ بِما يَرجو فَقُلت مؤرخاً

وَفازَ بِما يَرجو فَقُلت مؤرخاً

سَعيد أَتى مِن طيبة المَجد بِالمُنى

سَعيد أَتى مِن طيبة المَجد بِالمُنى

And he won what he hoped for; so I said, composing a chronogram:

And attained what he hopes so I said chronicling

Sa'id came from glorious Tayba with his wishes fulfilled.

“Sa’eed came from the glory of Tayba with wishes”
