افخَر بِمَولد نجل طابَ مَنبعُهُ

افخَر بِمَولد نجل طابَ مَنبعُهُ

وَاشكر فَطالعُه المَسعود يَرفعُهُ

وَاشكر فَطالعُه المَسعود يَرفعُهُ

Take pride in the birth of a son whose wellspring is pure.

I rejoice at the birth of a son whose source is pure

And give thanks, for his auspicious rising star exalts him.

Whose auspicious stars shall lift and raise him high

وَالسَعد جاءَك بِالبُشرى وَأَرّخه

وَالسَعد جاءَك بِالبُشرى وَأَرّخه

شَمس الأَمين بَدَت وَالسَعد مَطلعُهُ

شَمس الأَمين بَدَت وَالسَعد مَطلعُهُ

And good fortune has come to you with glad tidings; record its date:

Good fortune brought you tidings and marked the date

The sun of al-Amin has appeared, and good fortune is his place of rising.

The sun of the faithful dawned; blessed is its rising
