تَهنَّأْrejoice مُصطفىMustafa بِمجيءat the arrival of نَجلٍa son
تَهنَّأْ مُصطفى بِمجيء نَجلٍ
يَفوقsurpasses البَدرَthe full moon بِالوَجهwith the face المَليحِlovely
يَفوق البَدرَ بِالوَجه المَليحِ
Rejoice, Mustafa, at the arrival of a son
Mustafa rejoices at the arrival of a son
Who surpasses the full moon with his lovely face.
Whose face outshines the full moon, radiant and fair
وَفاخرْand boast حَيثwherever شئتyou wish بِهِof him وَأرِّخand record the date
وَفاخرْ حَيث شئت بِهِ وَأرِّخ
بَداappeared الدَرويشal-Darwish (the dervish) فيin زَمَنthe age of الفُتوحconquests
بَدا الدَرويش في زَمَن الفُتوح
And boast of him wherever you wish, and record the date:
