    Glorify God at every morning's dawn,

    When His sun rises, and at every crescent moon.

    ليس ما قال ربنا بضلال

    Knower of the secret and the manifest among us;

    What our Lord has said is not error.

    And His are the birds that forage and take shelter

    In nests among the mountains' safe places.

    And His are the wild beasts—you see them in the desert,

    Among curving dunes and in the shadows of the sands.

    And for Him the Jews embraced Judaism and practiced

    Every form of worship when grave afflictions were recalled.

    And for Him the Christians ministered and stood

    At every feast and celebration for their Lord.

    And His is the [secluded] monk, whom you see,

    Bound to hardship, though once [at ease] in mind.

    وصلوها قصيرة من طوال

    O my sons, do not sever the ties of kinship;

    And maintain them—the short ties among the long.

    ربما يستحل غير الحلال

    And fear God concerning the weak among the orphans;

    Sometimes what is not lawful is deemed lawful.

    And know that the orphan has a guardian,

    Knowledgeable, discerning without having to ask.

    إن مال اليتيم يرعاه والى

    Then do not consume the orphan's wealth;

    For a guardian watches over the orphan's wealth.

    إن خزل التخوم ذو عقال

    O my sons, do not cut back the boundaries;

    For cutting back boundaries brings a fetter.

    واحذروا مكرها ومر الليالي

    O my sons, do not trust the days;

    And beware their guile and the passing of the nights.

    And know that their passing surely brings the end of

    Creation—whatever is new or worn out.

    And unite your purpose in righteousness and

    Piety, abandoning concealment and taking what is lawful.
