إلىto سَيدٍa lord لَولاهُwere it not for him كانَwould be زَمانُناour age
إلى سَيدٍ لَولاهُ كانَ زَمانُنا
وَأَبناؤُهُand its sons لَفظاًan utterance عريّاًstripped عنof المَعنىmeaning
وَأَبناؤُهُ لَفظاً عريّاً عن المَعنى
To a lord without whom our age
To a master, without whom our time
and its sons would be an utterance stripped of meaning.
And his sons would be empty words devoid of meaning
