لأَميرٍfor a prince يَليgoverns اِمورَaffairs العِبادِthe people
Indeed, wearing black is the strongest sign
Wearing black is the strongest sign
of a prince who governs the people's affairs.
Of a leader governing people’s affairs,
وَأَميرُand the prince الملاحthe beautiful ones يَأتيهِcomes to him عزلٌdismissal
حينَwhen تَلَقّاهُyou meet him لابِساًwearing لِلسّوادِin black
But the prince of beauties faces dismissal
And a leader of sailors is removed
when you meet him clad in black.
When he is seen wearing black attire
