أَقولُI say وَقدand indeed رَأَيتُI saw لَهُof his سحاباًclouds
أَقولُ وَقد رَأَيتُ لَهُ سحاباً
منof الهِجرانِestrangement مقبلَةًapproaching اِلَيناtoward us
من الهِجرانِ مقبلَةً اِلَينا
I say, having seen his clouds
I say as I have seen a cloud
of estrangement approaching us,
Of estrangement approaching us
وَقدand indeed سَحَّتpoured عَزاليهاtheir spouts بِهطلٍin torrents
وَقد سَحَّت عَزاليها بِهطلٍ
حَواليناaround us الصدودrejection وَلاand not عَلَيناupon us
حَوالينا الصدود وَلا عَلَينا
with their spouts pouring down in torrents:
Having poured down its isolation with rain
May rejection be around us, not upon us!
Around our unresponsive surroundings, but not upon us
