مَليحُ الحَظِّ وَالخَطِّ

مَليحُ الحَظِّ وَالخَطِّ

Abu Nasr ibn Bakran

has fine fortune and fine handwriting:

فَهذا النَملُ في العاجِ

فَهذا النَملُ في العاجِ

وَذاكَ الدُرُّ في السَمطِ

وَذاكَ الدُرُّ في السَمطِ

this, then, is ants on ivory,

and that, pearls on a necklace.
