  1. زادَت قرونُكَ يا عمَي

    رُ عَلى مَساويك الجَلِيَّه

    Your horns, O ʿUmayr, have grown

    beyond your glaring faults;

  2. وأَقَلُّ قَرنٍ حزتَهُ

    كَمنارَةِ الاِسكِندريَّه

    and the smallest horn you have acquired

    is like the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
