لعمركَ ما الاِنسانُ الّا بدينِهِ

لعمركَ ما الاِنسانُ الّا بدينِهِ

فَلا تَترُك التَقوى اعتِماداً عَلى النَسَب

By your life, a person's worth lies only in his faith.

By your life! Man is naught but what his faith makes of him.

So do not abandon piety, relying on lineage.

فَقَد رَفَعَ الاِسلامُ سلمانَ فارِسٍ

فَقَد رَفَعَ الاِسلامُ سلمانَ فارِسٍ

وَقَد وَضَع الشركُ الشَريفَ أَبا لَهَب

وَقَد وَضَع الشركُ الشَريفَ أَبا لَهَب

For Islam elevated Salman of Persia,

For Islam has raised the status of the Persian Salman,

And polytheism brought low the high-born Abu Lahab.

While polytheism degraded the noble Abu Lahab.
