O prince of God’s religion, peer of His Prophet—
O leader of God's faith, counterpart of His Prophet,
you whose love is a binding duty imposed by God;
And you, love for whom is a binding duty from God,

And your glory keeps watch from al-Simak's highest point.

Your sword upon the enemies’ necks is necklaces—
And your sword is necklaces about your enemies' necks,
necklaces over which no bead-piercer ever labored.
Necklaces no bead-driller has labored over.

The day of Badr offers ample proof and testimony,
And the day of Badr is ample and sufficient;
when hardships were laid low beneath your two striking blades.
And difficulties were subdued by your two sword-strokes.

And on the day of Amr—by my life, what noble deeds,

Clearly displayed, with no noble deeds to equal them!

And Marhab's affair is enough, if only they knew;
for every day brings those beloved a Marhab to face.
And every day holds welcomes for the appointed heir.

And at Khaybar, the radiant reports of him made clear
its truth: the Lion effortlessly wielding the sword.
Their truth, while the lion played with his sword.

How many a prayer of the Chosen One for him was answered,
And how many prayers of the Chosen One for him were fulfilled,
and how many hopes of the Trustee’s enemy came to nothing!
While the hopes of the appointed heir's enemies were dashed!

Thus he dispelled the eye inflammation that pained him, praying,
that very hour, while the gale of war blew furiously;
At once, while the wind raged in battle.

As her worthy match, though all had sought her before?

Though a foolish dissembler had turned him away from me?

For your forebears destroyed Muhammad's family
through wars whose consequences will yet be known.
In wars—what consequences come of them will yet be known.

Starving them to death—these are the calamities.

Yet his children starve while the enemy governs it!

The impure is distinguished from the pure.

Through love for them I have become entitled
of that which none other than I deserves.
To what no one else is entitled to.
