وَكاتِبٍ جاءَنا بِأَعمى

وَكاتِبٍ جاءَنا بِأَعمى

لَم يَحوِ عِلماً وَلا نَفاذا

لَم يَحوِ عِلماً وَلا نَفاذا

And a scribe came to us with a blind man;

A scribe approached us with a blind man

He possessed neither knowledge nor insight.

Who possessed no knowledge or insight

فَقُلتُ لِلحاضِرينَ كُفّوا

فَقُلتُ لِلحاضِرينَ كُفّوا

فَقَلبُ هذا كَعَين هذا

فَقَلبُ هذا كَعَين هذا

So I said to those present, “Stop—

So I told those present: stop!

For this one's heart is like that one's eye.”
