تَراجُعَ المرّيخ في برج الحَمَل

تَراجُعَ المرّيخ في برج الحَمَل

A witless astrologer frightened me

A deranged astrologer's brother frightened me,

with Mars’s retrograde motion in the sign of Aries.

Saying Mars was moving into Aries.

فَقُلتُ دَعني مِن أَباطيل الحيَل

فَقُلتُ دَعني مِن أَباطيل الحيَل

فَالمُشتَري عِندي سَواءٌ وَزُحَل

فَالمُشتَري عِندي سَواءٌ وَزُحَل

So I said: Spare me the falsehoods of trickery;

I said, "Leave me be with your deceptive tricks -

for Jupiter and Saturn are alike to me.

To me Jupiter and Saturn are the same.

أَدفَعُ عَنّي كُلَّ آفاتِ الدُوَل

أَدفَعُ عَنّي كُلَّ آفاتِ الدُوَل

بِخالِقي وَرازِقي عزَّ وَجَل

بِخالِقي وَرازِقي عزَّ وَجَل

I ward off from myself all the ills of changing fortunes

I will ward off the evils of fate

through my Creator and Provider, mighty and exalted.

Through my Creator and Sustainer, the Almighty."
