وَيَداكَand your two hands تَجزيreward بِالجَميلِwith kindness وَتُجزِلُand give lavishly
Your palms rain down bounty and flow freely.
Enough of your blame for generosity, yet neglect
And your hands reward with kindness and give lavishly.
Your hands reward with kindness, yet give abundantly
وَعُلاكَand your eminence يَقضيdecrees لِلمُؤَمِّلِfor the hopeful بِالرِضىwith satisfaction
وَعَطاكَand your giving يَكفيsuffices for الوافِدينَthose who come وَيَكفَلُand provides
Your eminence decrees satisfaction for the hopeful.
Your heights decide to please the hopeful with contentment
And your giving suffices for those who come, and provides for them.
Your gifts suffice the visitors, and take responsibility
أَنتَyou الَّذيthe one who إِنif أَمَّهُapproaches him مُستَصرِخٌone crying for help
يَكميconceals العَطِيَّةَthe gift لِلنَزيلِfor the guest وَيَكمُلُand is perfect
You are the one who, if someone crying for help approaches him,
You are the one whom if a dweller implores urgently
Conceals his gift to the guest and is perfect.
Provides generously for the guest, and makes complete
فَإِذاthen when شَكاcomplained of جَورَthe injustice of الحَوادِثِcalamities جارُهُhis neighbor

يُعديaids النَزيلَthe guest عَلاagainst الزَمانِTime وَيَعدِلُand acts justly
Then, when his neighbor complains of the injustice of calamities,
So if a neighbor complains of the wrongs of events
He aids the guest against Time and acts justly.
You redress the guest, rising above the times and make equal
ماnot كُنتَyou were لِلشَهباءِfor al-Shahba إِلّاexcept وابِلاًa downpour

يُرسىis anchored عَليهاupon her بِالقُطارِwith showers وَيُرسَلُand is sent forth
For al-Shahba, you have been nothing but a downpour,
You were to shooting stars nothing but a downpour
Anchored over her with showers, and sent forth.
Sent upon them in multitudes, and unleashed
ماnot شاهَدَتsaw عَينايَmy two eyes قَبلَكَbefore you حاكِماًa ruler
يُعزىis credited إِلىwith فِعلِdoing الجَميلِgood فَيُعذَلُyet is reproached
Never before you have my eyes seen a ruler
My eyes never witnessed before you a ruler
Credited with doing good, yet reproached.
To whom the doing of good is attributed, so he is pardoned
مَولايَmy lord دونَكَtake نَظمَthe verse of شاكٍone complaining شاكِرٍone thankful
يُغضيaverts his eyes فَيَحميand thus wards off العَتبَreproach عَنكَfrom you وَيَحمِلُand endures
My lord, take the verse of one complaining yet grateful,
My lord, except you, a doubting, thankful poet composes
Who averts his eyes, wards reproach away from you, and endures.
Who conceals and thus protects reproach from you, and carries
وَأُجِلَّand I revere مَجدَكَyour glory أَنthat يَكونَit should be مُساعِديmy helper
دَهراًfor a time فَتُبديthen you show ضِدَّthe opposite of ذاكَthat وَتُبدِلُand you change
And I hold your glory too exalted to be my helper
And I delay your magnificent glory to ever assist me
For a time, only for you then to show the contrary and change.
An era, so you show the opposite of that and change
فَسِواكَfor someone other than you مَنis one who يَرضىconsents بِفِعلِto committing دَنِيَّةٍa base deed

For someone other than you would consent to a base deed:
Except you, who would be content with despicable deeds
Complaining of a friend's delay, then fettering him.
A friend complains of unfairness, so he puzzles
