لَمّاwhen اِكتَسىbecame clothed خَدُّهُhis cheek وَقُلتُand I said لَهُto him
لَمّا اِكتَسى خَدُّهُ وَقُلتُ لَهُ
كُلُevery حَياةٍlife عَقيبُهاfollowing it تَلَفُdeath
كُلُ حَياةٍ عَقيبُها تَلَفُ
When his cheek became clothed and I said to him,
When his cheek grew wrinkled, and I said to him,
“Every life is followed by death,”
"Every life in the end decays,"
رَأىhe saw أَخاهُhis brother بِعَينِwith an eye of مَعذِرَةٍforgiveness
رَأى أَخاهُ بِعَينِ مَعذِرَةٍ
وَقالَand he said ماnot ماتَdied مَنwhoever لَهُhe has خَلَفُa successor
وَقالَ ما ماتَ مَن لَهُ خَلَفُ
he looked at his brother with a forgiving eye
He looked at me with forgiving eyes,
and said, “He who has a successor has not died.”
And said, "He who leaves heirs never dies."
