سَعَةُbreadth العُذرِof the excuse ليfor me وَضيقُand the narrowness الحِجابِof the barrier to entry
سَعَةُ العُذرِ لي وَضيقُ الحِجابِ
جَنَّبانيboth have kept me away عَنfrom قَصدِapproaching ذاكَthat الجَنابِthe honored presence
جَنَّباني عَن قَصدِ ذاكَ الجَنابِ
The breadth of my excuse and the narrowness of access
My excuses are wide but the path is narrow
Have kept me from approaching that honored presence.
Keeping me from seeking that lord
وَقُطوبُand the scowling الخُطوبِof calamities أَهوَنُless grievous عِنديto me
وَقُطوبُ الخُطوبِ أَهوَنُ عِندي
مَوقِعاًin impact مِنthan تَقَطُّبِthe scowling of الحُجّابِthe gatekeepers
مَوقِعاً مِن تَقَطُّبِ الحُجّابِ
And the scowling of calamities is less grievous to me
And betrothal of the shy is easier for me
In its impact than the scowling of the gatekeepers.
