One with an ailing eye is not visited, but
The sick of eye are not revisited
is sought out upon recovery for congratulations.
Yet time of recovery deserves congratulations
يرادis intended منfrom العيادةvisiting the sick بسطextending أنسcomfort
يراد من العيادة بسط أنس
وليسand is not الأنسcomfort إلاexcept بالعيانthrough seeing
وليس الأنس إلا بالعيان
The purpose of visiting the sick is to bring comfort,
The purpose of visiting is to spread joy
and comfort comes only through seeing.
And joy comes only from seeing
فكيفso how ينالobtains بيthrough me أنساcomfort مريضa sick person
فكيف ينال بي أنسا مريض
أكلفهI burden him with الكلامspeech ولاand not يرانيhe sees me
أكلفه الكلام ولا يراني
So how can a sick person find comfort through me
So how can an invalid find joy in me
when I burden him with speech, yet he does not see me?
