ياO مَنyou who جَعَلَmade الظِباءَthe gazelles لِلأُسدِthe lions (as prey) تَصيدhunt
يا مَن جَعَلَ الظِباءَ لِلأُسدِ تَصيد
وَالسادَةَand the masters فيin مَواقِفِthe encounters of العِشقِlove عَبيدslaves
وَالسادَةَ في مَواقِفِ العِشقِ عَبيد
O you who made gazelles hunt lions,
O You who made the deer as prey for the lion
And masters slaves in love's encounters,
And the masters as slaves in the stance of love
أَلهِمinspire حَدَقَthe pupils of المِلاحِthe beautiful ones فيin الحُكمِjudgment بِناconcerning us
أَلهِم حَدَقَ المِلاحِ في الحُكمِ بِنا
إِنجازَfulfillment of مَواعِدٍpromises وَإِخلافَand nonfulfillment of وَعيدthreats
إِنجازَ مَواعِدٍ وَإِخلافَ وَعيد
Inspire the eyes of the beautiful ones, when judging us,
Inspire the eyes of the wise in ruling us
To fulfill promises and leave threats unfulfilled.
