    كُنوزِ العَفافِ وَكَهفِ العُفاةِ

    O son of the noble, valiant warriors and defenders,

    Treasures of chastity and a refuge for seekers of bounty;

    وَفَرضَ الصِلاتِ كَفرضِ الصَلاةِ

    And you who deem generosity binding upon you,

    And the obligation of giving like the obligation of prayer;

    سُبُلُ النَجاحِ وَسُفُنُ النَجاةِ

    And you whose judgment in weighty affairs

    Is paths to success and ships of deliverance;

    Fast-breaking has indeed favored the master of fasting,

    With an arriving feast and a congenial life.

    And with me is a gazelle of rare beauty,

    Rich in purity, peerless in his qualities.

    He passes round clear wine like rainwater,

    And the water of modesty and the water of life.

    And a rainless cloud has blanketed the sky,

    Enveloping it from every direction.

    And we meet the army of spring

    With joy ushered in and petty troubles buzzing.

    So lend your help—may attaining harmony bring you joy—

    To the faithful, shortly before death.

    And visit us, for the sweetest of gifts

    Is bringing back our bygone days.
