لَم يَبدُ مِنّي ما سَيوجِبُ وَحشَةً

لَم يَبدُ مِنّي ما سَيوجِبُ وَحشَةً

وَيُبيحُ قَدرَ قَطيعَتي وَعِتابي

وَيُبيحُ قَدرَ قَطيعَتي وَعِتابي

Nothing has come from me that would cause estrangement

No sign yet from me that would make estrangement

And justify the extent of your shunning and reproaching me.

Justifiable, or license my alienation and reproach.

إِن كُنتُمُ اِستَوحَشتُمُ مِن فِعلِكُم

إِن كُنتُمُ اِستَوحَشتُمُ مِن فِعلِكُم

فَعَليكُمُ في ذاكَ دَقُّ البابِ

فَعَليكُمُ في ذاكَ دَقُّ البابِ

If you have grown uneasy over your own conduct,

If my actions have led you to feel aversion,

Then it falls to you, in that case, to knock at the door.

The fault lies with you in this regard.
