إِن أَكُن قَد جَنَيتُ في السُكرِ ذَنباً
فَاِعفُthen pardon عَنّيfrom me ياO راحَةَsolace الأَرواحِthe souls
فَاِعفُ عَنّي يا راحَةَ الأَرواحِ
If I have committed a sin in drunkenness,
If I have sinned while intoxicated,
Then pardon me, O solace of souls.
Then forgive me, O soothing of souls.
أَيُّwhat عَقلٍreason يَبقىremains هُناكَthere لِمِثليfor one like me
أَيُّ عَقلٍ يَبقى هُناكَ لِمِثلي
بَينَbetween سُكرِintoxication الهَوىlove وَسُكرِand intoxication الراحِwine
بَينَ سُكرِ الهَوى وَسُكرِ الراحِ
What reason remains there for one like me,
What mind could remain for one like me,
Between the intoxication of love and the intoxication of wine?
Between love's inebriation and wine's inebriation?
