فَإِنَّ دَليلَ الفَرعِ يُنبي عَنِ الأَصلِ
If a man's origin is unknown, examine his deeds;
When a man's origin is absent, yet his deed remains,
for the branch's evidence tells of the root.
For the branch's mark reveals the root it claims.

For a noble deed may bear witness for its doer;
So a good deed may bear witness for its Lord,
likewise, the edge's keenness bears witness to the blade.
As the blade's sharpness proves the excellence of the sword.
