I will praise Your bounties with words

وَأَشكُرُand I give thanks شُكراًthanks لَيسَthere is no ليfor me فيهِin it مِنَّةٌcredit for a favor

وَلا مِنَّةٌ لِلرَوضِ إِن شَكَرَ الوَبلا
And I give thanks, with no credit to me for doing so;
And give thanks with gratitude wherein I have no merit
nor is the garden due credit if it thanks the downpour.
Just as the meadow has no merit should it give thanks for the rain.
