كُنتُI was أَخشىI fear عَذلَthe censure العَواذِلِthe reproachers حَتّىuntil
كُنتُ أَخشى عَذلَ العَواذِلِ حَتّى
صِرتَyou became مُستَثقِلاًfinding it burdensome لِرَدِّto send back جَوابيmy reply
صِرتَ مُستَثقِلاً لِرَدِّ جَوابي
I feared the censure of the reproachers, until
I used to fear the blame of critics, until
You came to find replying to me burdensome.
You grew weary of answering my letters.
فَتَرَكتُso I ceased التَثقيلَburdening فيin بَعثِsending كُتبيmy letters
فَتَرَكتُ التَثقيلَ في بَعثِ كُتبي
وَاِستَراحَتand rested عَواذِليmy reproachers مِنfrom عِتابيrebuking me
وَاِستَراحَت عَواذِلي مِن عِتابي
So I ceased burdening you by sending my letters,
So I stopped burdening you with my writings,
And my reproachers found rest from rebuking me.
And my critics were relieved of reproaching me.
