وَظَبيٍand a gazelle بِقَفرٍin a wilderness فَوقَupon طِرفٍa noble steed مُفَوِّقٍtaking aim
وَظَبيٍ بِقَفرٍ فَوقَ طِرفٍ مُفَوِّقٍ
بِقَوسٍwith a bow رَمىhe shot فيin النَقعِthe dust cloud وَحشاًwild beasts بِأَسهُمِwith arrows
بِقَوسٍ رَمى في النَقعِ وَحشاً بِأَسهُمِ
And a gazelle in the wilderness, astride a noble steed, taking aim,
With a bow, shot wild beasts amid the dust with arrows;
كَشَمسٍlike a sun بِأُفقٍon a horizon فَوقَabove بَرقٍlightning بِكَفِّهِin his palm
كَشَمسٍ بِأُفقٍ فَوقَ بَرقٍ بِكَفِّهِ
هِلالٌa crescent moon رَمىhe shot فيin اللَيلِthe night جِنّاًjinn بِأَنجُمِwith stars
هِلالٌ رَمى في اللَيلِ جِنّاً بِأَنجُمِ
Like a sun on the horizon above lightning; in his palm,
A crescent—he shot jinn in the night with stars.
