تَعَلَّمتُ فِعلَ الخَيرِ مِن غَيرِ أَهلِهِ

وَهَذَّبَ نَفسي فِعلُهُم بِاِختِلافِهِ

I have learned to do good from those not good

And their deeds refined me by their difference

أَرى ما يَسوءُ النَفسَ مِن فِعلِ جاهِلٍ

فَآخُذُ في تَأديبِها بِخِلافِهِ

I see what harms the soul from an ignorant's acts

So I discipline it by opposing them
