You have enfolded us in bounty: when forgotten

are generosity's noble deeds, its memory becomes proverbial.

وأعجب الأمر أني بعد بعدكم

أحيا وأيسر ما لاقيت ما قتلا

أحيا وأيسر ما لاقيت ما قتلا

And the strangest thing is that, after your departure,

I live, though the least I have endured is enough to kill.
