تَوالَ عَلِيّاً وَأَبناءَهُ

تَوالَ عَلِيّاً وَأَبناءَهُ

تَفُز في المَعادِ وَأَهوالِهِ

تَفُز في المَعادِ وَأَهوالِهِ

Be loyal to Ali and his sons;

Follow Ali and his sons

you will triumph at the Resurrection and amid its terrors.

They will succeed on the Day of Judgment and its horrors

إِمامٌ لَهُ عِقدُ يَومِ الغَديرِ

إِمامٌ لَهُ عِقدُ يَومِ الغَديرِ

بِنَصِّ النَبيِّ وَأَقوالِهِ

بِنَصِّ النَبيِّ وَأَقوالِهِ

An Imam whose investiture on the Day of Ghadir

A leader, for him is the covenant on the Day of Ghadeer

rests on the Prophet’s explicit declaration and his words.

By the Prophet's words and sayings

لَهُ في التَشَهُّدِ بَعدَ الصَلاةِ

لَهُ في التَشَهُّدِ بَعدَ الصَلاةِ

مَقامٌ يُخَبِّرُ عَن حالِهِ

مَقامٌ يُخَبِّرُ عَن حالِهِ

For him, in the tashahhud after the prayer,

For him, after the prayer, in the Tashahhud

is a place that speaks of his standing.

Is a position that tells of his status

فَهَل بَعدَ ذِكرِ إِلَهِ السَماءِ

فَهَل بَعدَ ذِكرِ إِلَهِ السَماءِ

وَذِكرِ النَبِيِّ سِوى آلِهِ

وَذِكرِ النَبِيِّ سِوى آلِهِ

So is there, after mention of the God of heaven

So is there, after mentioning the God of Heaven

and mention of the Prophet, anyone but his household?

And mentioning the Prophet, other than his family?
