يُقَبِّلُ أَرضاً شَرَّفَتها رِكابُكُم

يُقَبِّلُ أَرضاً شَرَّفَتها رِكابُكُم

وَيُلصِقُ أَحناءَ التَرائِبِ بِالتُربِ

وَيُلصِقُ أَحناءَ التَرائِبِ بِالتُربِ

He kisses ground ennobled by your mounts,

And presses the curves of his chest to the dust.

وَيَسأَلُكُم أَن لا يَكونَ نَصيبُهُ

وَيَسأَلُكُم أَن لا يَكونَ نَصيبُهُ

مِنَ الرَدَّ إِلّا رَدَّ أَجوِبَةِ الكُتبِ

مِنَ الرَدَّ إِلّا رَدَّ أَجوِبَةِ الكُتبِ

And begs you that his share

Of rejection be nothing but answers sent back to his letters.
