وَمُستَحلىand delectable المَراشِفِthe lips سُكَّرِيَّsugar-sweet
وَمُستَحلى المَراشِفِ سُكَّرِيَّ
أَتىcame بِغَرائِبِwith wonders of الحُسنِbeauty الظَريفِexquisite
أَتى بِغَرائِبِ الحُسنِ الظَريفِ
And a sugar-sweet one, whose lips are delectable,
With pillows sweet as sugar, he arrived
Brought wonders of exquisite beauty.
Bearing strange and delicate beauty
تَنازَعَcontended خَصرُهُhis waist وَالرِدفُand the buttocks حَتّىuntil
تَنازَعَ خَصرُهُ وَالرِدفُ حَتّى
بَداbecame apparent حُكمُsway القَوِيِّthe strong عَلىover الضَعيفِthe weak
بَدا حُكمُ القَوِيِّ عَلى الضَعيفِ
His waist and buttocks contended, until
His hips contested with his rear until
The strong one's sway over the weak became plain.
The rule of the strong over the weak was clear
فَقُلتُso I said وَقَدand already رَأَيتُI had seen كَثيفَample رَدفٍbuttocks
فَقُلتُ وَقَد رَأَيتُ كَثيفَ رَدفٍ
يَموجُundulates لِهَزَّةِwith the swaying of القَدِّthe frame اللَطيفِdelicate
يَموجُ لِهَزَّةِ القَدِّ اللَطيفِ
So I said, having seen his ample buttocks
When I saw his ample rear swaying
Undulate with the swaying of his delicate frame:
At the motions of his slender waist, I said:
لِذاfor this reason غَدَتِbecame الحَلاوَةُsweetness فيهِin him طَبعاًan innate quality
لِذا غَدَتِ الحَلاوَةُ فيهِ طَبعاً
لِمُعتَدِلٍbecause of something temperate يُؤَثِّرُacts فيupon كَثيفِsomething dense
لِمُعتَدِلٍ يُؤَثِّرُ في كَثيفِ
Thus sweetness became innate in him,
Thus sweetness within him is instinctive
Through something temperate acting upon something dense.
For one moderate, yet thickly endowed
