وبالغت في حسن تأليفه
And a gazelle from among the Turks I took as my drinking companion,
The gazelle wept for having fled him,
and spared no effort in graciously winning him over.
And was profuse in extolling how well he was made.

بترجيجها وبتشفيفه
I took pleasure in him and in his cup,
I took pleasure in him, and in his cup,
by rocking it and sipping him.
As he stood swaying, and swaying again.

And I said, “We served,” and its redotted reading, “Take from us”;
I said "Serve us, and correctly alter the cups!"
so he generously gave a drink—and its redotted reading, a kiss.
So he poured out the wine, and correctly altered the cups.
