أُؤَمِّلُI hope for غُفرانَforgiveness of ذَنبيmy sin إِلَيكَto you
أُؤَمِّلُ غُفرانَ ذَنبي إِلَيكَ
لِماbecause of what كانَwas عِندَكَwith you ليfor me مِنof مَكانِstanding
لِما كانَ عِندَكَ لي مِن مَكانِ
I look to you for forgiveness of my sin,
Because of the standing I have with you,
وَلَوand even if أَنَّthat ذَنبيmy sin لَونُthe color of المَشيبِgray hair
وَلَو أَنَّ ذَنبي لَونُ المَشيبِ
وَحِلمَكَand your forbearance لَحظُthe glance of عُيونِthe eyes of الغَوانيbeautiful women
وَحِلمَكَ لَحظُ عُيونِ الغَواني
And even if my sin were the color of gray hair,
And your forbearance the glance of beautiful women’s eyes.
