أَهلاً بِشُهبٍ عِندَ إِشراقِها

أَهلاً بِشُهبٍ عِندَ إِشراقِها

يُجلى الدُجى مِن نورِها الواضِحِ

يُجلى الدُجى مِن نورِها الواضِحِ

Welcome to the meteors as they shine!

Greetings to meteors at their shining dawn

Darkness is dispelled by their clear light.

Dispelling gloom with their bright glow

تُنضِبُ بَحرَ اللَيلِ إِذ تَغتَدي

تُنضِبُ بَحرَ اللَيلِ إِذ تَغتَدي

ناهِلَةً مِن لُجِّهِ الطافِحِ

ناهِلَةً مِن لُجِّهِ الطافِحِ

They drain the sea of night as they go forth at dawn,

Filling night’s sea as they feed

drinking from its overflowing depths.

Drawing from its overflowing spring

كَأَنَّما أَيمانُها عَزمَةٌ

كَأَنَّما أَيمانُها عَزمَةٌ

مِن عَزَماتِ المَلِكِ الصالِحِ

مِن عَزَماتِ المَلِكِ الصالِحِ

As though their oaths were a firm resolve

As if their oaths are resolutions

among the resolves of King al-Salih.

Of the righteous King

مَلكٌ يَظَلُّ الدَهرُ في حُكمِهِ

مَلكٌ يَظَلُّ الدَهرُ في حُكمِهِ

مُقتَبِساً مِن رَأيِهِ القادِحِ

مُقتَبِساً مِن رَأيِهِ القادِحِ

A king under whose rule Time remains,

A King whose rule the ages will remain

drawing light from his spark-striking judgment.

Guided by his piercing view

وَمَن غَدا سائِحُ إِنعامِهِ

وَمَن غَدا سائِحُ إِنعامِهِ

يَملَأُ قَلبَ الآمَلِ السانِحِ

يَملَأُ قَلبَ الآمَلِ السانِحِ

And one whose flowing bounty has come

And he who tomorrow quests his grace

to fill the heart of the hopeful passerby.

Will fill hope’s aspiring heart

لا بَرِحَت رُتبَةُ سُلطانِهِ

لا بَرِحَت رُتبَةُ سُلطانِهِ

تَسمو عَلى الأَعزَلِ وَالرامِحِ

تَسمو عَلى الأَعزَلِ وَالرامِحِ

May the rank of his sovereignty never cease

Never has his sultanate’s rank

to soar above the Unarmed and the Lance-Bearer.

Ceased to rise over weapon and foe
