Glad tidings! My lucky star has awakened for me.

The beloved has visited me, so this day is a feast day.

My joy is complete, and my gathering is perfected

With our aged wine and our fresh blossoms.

I called out when I saw my beloved at my gathering,

Close by my side, having come from afar:

"Who has seen the stars walking upon the earth,

Or beheld masters hastening to slaves?"

I was given his wine and his cool saliva to drink—

Two wines: one dispels my madness, and the other increases it.

If delight in the dream-phantom has eluded me in sleep,

In my waking hours, I have gained many times what I am shown.
