قُلتُ له والرقيبُ يُعجِلُه

مستعجلا للفراقِ أَينَ أَنَا

I said to him, as the watcher hurried him,

hastening to part, “Where am I?”

فمَدَّ كفّاً إِلى ترائبه

فمَدَّ كفّاً إِلى ترائبه

وقال سِر آمنا فأنتَ هُنَا

وقال سِر آمنا فأنتَ هُنَا

Then he stretched a hand toward his breast

and said, “Go safely, for you are here.”
