Pass it round in safety, for there is no harm there,
Turn her safely, for no evil dwells in her light,
Even if myrtle leaves have sharpened its ears.
Though her ears are adorned and the myrtle entwined.

And it is nothing but the smiles of clouds,
She is only laughing clouds on a rainy day,
Playing with a firebrand from flashes of lightning.
Playful flashes of lightning with delicate measure.

And a band of winds shook the river for a while,
A procession of winds shook the river for a while,
As horses’ hooves trod upon a coat of mail.
As horses’ hooves beat on coats of mail.
