منfrom شَيمِwatching بَرقٍlightning أَوor شَميمfragrance عرارِ‘arār, a fragrant wildflower
I turn my ribs away from longing stirred by a fleeting thought
I distract my ribs from smoldering passion
Born of watching lightning or the fragrance of ‘arār.
With the peril of lightning's virtue or scent of clove,
وَأُنيخand I encamp حَيثُwhere دُموعُtears عَينيmy eye منهَلٌa watering place

And I encamp where the tears of my eye are a watering place
And I rest where my tears are a watering hole,
That quenches thirst, and where my breast is a hearth of fire.
Quenching, and where my thoughts are a burning fire.
