A joy that has made gray-haired Time young again,
The prosperity with which time grew old,
And a heaven of glory to which a star has been added;
And the sky of glory to which a star was added,
وَعلوُّand loftiness مَنزِلَةٍof station تُشادُis raised بِأَزهَرٍby a radiant one

And a lofty station raised by a radiant one,
And the height of rank built with flowers,
Like a star, except that he never sets.
Like a star but does not set,

An infant's ways, should he falter, are forbidden him
Al-Walid's nature refuses, when it inclines
By his wet nurses' nobility and his good lineage.
To the kindness of nurses and good carpenters.

Noble virtues and generosity were born at his birth,
With his birth, virtues and dew were born,
And the gathering and procession readied themselves for him.
And the club was adorned for him, and processions.

Glad tidings to you of the child who, in our eyes,
I give you good tidings of the boy who is to us
Is a cub, yet in essence a mighty, thick-necked lion.
A cub, and in meaning a victorious lion.

So congratulate yourself on the rising of a most fortunate star,
Time takes pride in his radiant brow and marvels.
With whose charm time is adorned and admires.

It is sweet upon the tongue's tip, as though
Sweet on the tip of the tongue, as if
Its sweet utterance were honey and water.
It were honey and water - his eloquent utterance.

The days have brought you to the furthest reach of hope,
You have reached, through the days, the farthest goals
Among all that the noble strive for and seek.
That the generous seek and desire.
