جاءَتْthey came مَعاًtogether وَاطَّرَقَتْand took their paths شَتِيتاseparately
جاءَتْ مَعاً وَاطَّرَقَتْ شَتِيتا
وَهْيَwhile they تُثِيرُstirred up الساطِعَthe rising السِخْتِيتاdust
وَهْيَ تُثِيرُ الساطِعَ السِخْتِيتا
They came together and went their separate ways,
Together they came and whispered quietly
Stirring up the rising dust,
As she roused the bright one, grieved,
وَتَرَكَتْand left راعِيَهاtheir shepherd مَشْتُوتاdistraught
وَتَرَكَتْ راعِيَها مَشْتُوتا
قَدْindeed كادَnearly لَمّاwhen نامَhe slept أَنْto يَمُوتاdie
قَدْ كادَ لَمّا نامَ أَنْ يَمُوتا
And left their shepherd distraught;
And left their shepherd distraught,
He nearly died when he fell asleep.
Who nearly died as he slept.
