وَقَدْand sometimes أُعاصِيI defy فيin الشَبابِyouth المَيّالwayward
وَقَدْ أُعاصِي في الشَبابِ المَيّال
مَوْعِظَةthe admonition الأَدْنَىthe nearest one وَتَفْطِينَand the guidance الوالْthe guardian
مَوْعِظَة الأَدْنَى وَتَفْطِينَ الوالْ
And in wayward youth I would sometimes defy
In youth I disobeyed the wisdom of the meek
The admonition of one close to me and the guardian’s guidance.
And ignored the counsel of those close to me
