وفّى العلى حقّها زمانٌ
رضاsatisfaction حسينٍof Husayn عليهowed by it دَينُa debt
رضا حسينٍ عليه دَينُ
Time has paid glory its due;
A time fulfilled its promise
Husayn's satisfaction is a debt it owes.
The satisfaction of Hussein is owed
روضُthe garden الأمانيof hopes بهthrough him نضيرٌverdant
روضُ الأماني به نضيرٌ
وصفْوُand the pure water سلسالهof its flowing stream لُجينsilver
وصفْوُ سلساله لُجين
Through him, the garden of hopes is verdant;
The garden of hopes has a peer in him
And its flowing stream's pure water is silver.
Describe him, a chain of pearls
منافعthe interests القطرof the country منهthrough him ضاءتshone
منافع القطر منه ضاءت
لهاfor them بنورwith the light النجاحof success عينan eye
لها بنور النجاح عين
For the country's interests, through him there shone
The benefits of his rain have shone
An eye with the light of success.
For it the eye of success has lit
تزوهexult (apparently intended: تزهو) دواوينهhis bureaus ابتهاجاin joy
تزوه دواوينه ابتهاجا
إذْwhen أرّخَتْthey recorded the date ناظريmy superintendent حسينHusayn
إذْ أرّخَتْ ناظري حسين
His bureaus exult in joy,
His collections rejoice
When they recorded the date: 'My superintendent is Husayn.'
