عينُspring الحياةِof life بهجةٌa delight
عينُ الحياةِ بهجةٌ
جاءتْshe came علىin وِفقaccord with المرادْwhat was desired
جاءتْ على وِفق المرادْ
Ayn al-Hayat is a delight;
The spring of life is joyous glee
she came just as desired.
That came as wished, so welcomed be
مُذsince طابَgrew sweet أنسُthe joy عرسهاof her wedding
مُذ طابَ أنسُ عرسها
أرخّهُmark its date بالمرغوبwith what was desired جادhe was generous
أرخّهُ بالمرغوب جاد
Since the joy of her wedding grew sweet,
Since his company was sweet to her
mark its date: “He generously bestowed what was desired.”
He gifted it with bounty and spur
