they see everyone as beautiful,

كسفينةٍlike a ship تسعىmakes its way إلىtoward
كسفينةٍ تسعى إلى
شِعبa ravine يكونis مَهولاterrifying
شِعب يكون مَهولا
like a ship making its way toward
Like a ship sailing towards
a ravine that is terrifying.
A shoal that remains unknown
لهفيmy sorrow علىfor زمنِtime of الهناbliss
لهفي على زمنِ الهنا
إنْif صَحَّwas real كانwas بخيلاmiserly
إنْ صَحَّ كان بخيلا
Alas for the time of bliss—
I yearn for the time of serenity
if it was real, it was miserly.
If it comes true, it comes scarcely
