هيَ من عصر الليالي
Indeed, there is wine in my heart,
In my heart there is wine
Pressed from the nights,
Distilled from the nights
عُتِّقتwas aged فيin بطنbelly وادٍa valley
عُتِّقت في بطن وادٍ
بينamong هاتيكthose الجبالِthe mountains
بين هاتيك الجبالِ
Aged in the belly of a valley,
Freed in the belly of a valley
Among those mountains.
Between those mountains
كلَّماwhenever روحيmy soul احتستهاsipped it
كلَّما روحي احتستها
خطرoccurred الشعرُpoetry لباليto my mind
خطر الشعرُ لبالي

هكذاthus يفنىpasses away زمانيmy time
