ليسَ يدري ما حوَاهُ

غيرُ أصحابِ الشّعور

None knows what it contained

None knows what it contains

Except those endowed with feeling.

Except those of feeling

ولقد ماتُوا جميعاً

ولقد ماتُوا جميعاً

وتوَاروا في القُبُور

وتوَاروا في القُبُور

And indeed they have all died

And they all died

And vanished into the graves.

And were buried in graves

لَيتَ شعري أَفَيبَقى

لَيتَ شعري أَفَيبَقى

غامضاً حتى النّشور

غامضاً حتى النّشور

Would that I knew—will it then remain

Would that I knew if it remains

Obscure until the Resurrection,

Obscure until the resurrection

حيثُما يَبدو جليّاً

حيثُما يَبدو جليّاً

في سما اللهِ كَنُور

في سما اللهِ كَنُور

Where it will appear plainly

Where it appears clear

In God's heaven, like a light?

In the sky of God like light
