I envy the poet as he weeps
I envy the poet weeping
in the stillness of the darkness.
in the stillness of the dark,

And the Daughters of the Bier appear
and the daughters of grief seem

بِجِباهٍwith foreheads لامِعَاتٍshining
بِجِباهٍ لامِعَاتٍ
وَعُيُونٍand eyes غامِزَاتِwinking
وَعُيُونٍ غامِزَاتِ
with shining foreheads
with shining brows
