أنا وحقّ ولائك وعهد وفائك

أنا وحقّ ولائك وعهد وفائك

ما خنت ذاك الودّ والغراما

ما خنت ذاك الودّ والغراما

I swear by the sanctity of your loyalty and the pledge of your faithfulness:

I have been true to my allegiance and pact with you,

I have not betrayed that affection and passionate love,

I have not betrayed that love and passion,

ولا تقضت العهد والذماما

ولا تقضت العهد والذماما

قلبي لكم على الوفا أقاما

قلبي لكم على الوفا أقاما

Nor have the covenant and the bond of honor lapsed.

Nor have I broken my oath and covenant.

My heart has remained faithful to you;

My heart has remained steadfast in loyalty to you,

يرى الولا لغيركم حراما

يرى الولا لغيركم حراما

وقد جعلته لكم مقاما

وقد جعلته لكم مقاما

It deems loyalty to anyone but you forbidden.

Deeming love for others unlawful,

And I have made it a dwelling place for you;

And making you its sole aspiration.

حللتمون الشهر والأعواما

حللتمون الشهر والأعواما

يراكم اليقظة والمناما

يراكم اليقظة والمناما

You have dwelt in me through the month and the years.

You have filled my months and years,

It sees you in wakefulness and in dreams,

Awake, you are in sight; asleep, you are my dream,

والقصد والبغية والمراما

والقصد والبغية والمراما

وهو بغير فضلكم ما هاما

وهو بغير فضلكم ما هاما

And as its purpose, its desire, and its goal.

My every goal, desire and wish.

And it has been enamored of nothing but your excellence;

Without your grace, it wanders not elsewhere,

وعن سوى حبّكم قد صاما

وعن سوى حبّكم قد صاما

فقصّروا العتاب والملاما

فقصّروا العتاب والملاما

And it has fasted from all but love of you.

Nor, save for love of you, has it ever fasted.

So curtail reproach and blame,

So cease your blame and reproaches,

وادفعوا الظنون والأوهاما

وادفعوا الظنون والأوهاما

يا أوحداً وفاضلاً همّاما

يا أوحداً وفاضلاً همّاما

And dispel suspicions and illusions,

Dispel your doubts and suspicions.

O peerless one, virtuous and valiant!

O peerless and noble one of lofty aspirations!
