قالوا فلان راح يكذب دائما
فأجبتهمso I answered them عنهon his behalf بعذرwith an excuse ضيقmeager
فأجبتهم عنه بعذر ضيق
They said, “So-and-so has taken to lying all the time.”
They said so-and-so is always lying
So I answered them in his defense with a meager excuse:
So I defended him with a weak excuse
ماnot ذاكthat عنout of قصدintention ولاnor بتصنعwith affectation
ما ذاك عن قصد ولا بتصنع
لكنهbut it is خلقinnate disposition بغيرwithout تخلقassumed disposition
لكنه خلق بغير تخلق
“That is not deliberate, nor is it an affectation;
It's not intentional or pretentious
Rather, it is his innate disposition, not an assumed one.”
He was just created without manners
